I don't think I will continue the chair photos now that Harlow is one (it's just too hard to keep her in that chair!) But don't worry, there will be plenty of photo shoots this year. Here is a collage of the first year. Month one cracks me up!
When I was 7 months pregnant with their first grandchild my parents bought a "project" a mile from our house but 700 miles from theirs. This blog chronicles the beginnings of their renovation and of the beginnings of our adventure into parenthood.

Bunny Birthday Brunch
I had so much fun planning Harlow's first birthday party! I decided to have a brunch so that Harlow would be in her best mood which is typically in the morning. I think having it first thing was great for everyone because the guests could come and enjoy themselves (before kids nap times) then have the rest of the day free.
The bunny theme came from Harlow's love of the book "Pat the Bunny". I also figured since easter is early this year I would be able to find lots of bunny decorations. When I was collecting things for the party hubby asked "Are bunnies the new owls?" Ha!
Here are a few pics of the decorations. I wish I had taken a picture of the food...There was a second bigger fabric banner over the food. Also not pictured, was a pinterest inspired centerpiece with pink bunny peeps in a clear vase with flowers. It was kinda creepy when I put water in it, it felt like I was drowning the bunnies. And, they sorta "fattened up" with the water. Anyways...the menu (that I failed to take a picture of) Included a (also pinterest inspired) sausage egg casserole that I made the night before and popped in the oven in the morning (big hit); Two Costco quiches; Costco croissants with jam; fruit salad; mini white powdered donuts; and mimosas.

12 MONTHS!
Today is my sweet girl's birthday and I am so happy I took the day off to spend it with her. This month Harlow started saying "dada". She can give (big sloppy) kisses and wave. She seems to have NO interest in walking still but that's ok. She has six teeth and just enough hair for this little pony

One year really does go by fast! These photos were taken today. In a future post I want to put a collage of all 12 months. Also, a couple weeks ago I took some "one year" photos outside (but with her chair of course) and I'd like to post those too. But for now...I am too busy getting ready for Harlow's bunny birthday brunch!

almost one year old
And if the last post didn't give you your Harlow fix (mom), here is one of us eating breakfast in the kitchen with pajamas.
bedroom redo
Ok, this is not my parent's house in NC which is supposed to be the renovation subject of this blog. This is MY house in NC. I wanted to share how much of a difference some paint can make! When we first moved in, Mark was off bike racing and I was bored and painted the WHOLE room, including 5 doors, brown. Seriously the darkest brown the paint store would give me in eggshell. Well, I've been dreaming of a fresh, LIGHT, new color for a WHILE. I have a little less time these days (plus the aforementioned 5 doors + 6 windows) so we hired it out. Then I added a new bedspread, some art I already had around the house and voila! It is so bright in there that we have still been sleeping in the guest room. Ok, that will just be until we get some blinds!
