Violet six month stats

Violet had her six month checkup and she is our long baby. She was 27 inches (89%) and weighed 17lb 2 oz (69%). Oh, and she has a big noggin, 100 percentile!

SIX months!

A half of a year has gone by already! This month Violet can sit up on her own now (although still falls over after a minute or two). As a nice half birthday present, Harlow gave us all a preschool virus. So Violet was little under the weather in these pics, but you can hardly tell. She is a happy baby. She likes being in the Bjorn and being where the action is. She is not happy unless she has something in her hand to play with. I think this one is going to keep us busy! She really looks like a redhead in these, I think maybe it is the bright blue she has on. I am excited to see what her hair color is going to be.

Harlow and Violet were both wearing orange pajamas. I tried to get a good photo of the two of them, but that didn't go so well! Did get this one of Violet though...here is our almost 6 month old girl, pretty in orange!

April already?

It's April already and Violet will be a half a year old this month, I can't believe it! We have decided it is time that she start sleeping through the night. We'll see what she thinks about that haha. I'm giving myself the whole month to try to get some good six month pictures of her. Here is my first attempt. The positive is that the light was really pretty (it was first thing in the morning). But other than that it was pretty much a disaster. The ground was wet, I had Harlow with us (bad idea), and Violet was kinda cranky. Like I said, it was just the first attempt! I'm hoping by the time the month is over she is sitting up on her own :)

Harlow-isms

I think most of the words Harlow says only Mark and I can decode what they mean. She is mimicking everything we say (and do). I wanted to write this post so I can remember some of the cute things she is saying right now.
Our bedtime routine consists of giving everyone kisses (including Burger) and she gives a big MUuuuah with it. Then after we go up, brush teeth, and read a book, we say goodnight to everyone in the family.  I have been teaching Harlow what to say when someone asks her her name. She says "Har-row Ackmen" Then she goes on to name the family...daddy Ackman, mommy Ackman, Burber Ackman, Biolet Ackman. Recently she started adding "George Ackman!" (as in curious george). Then she laughs and laughs. I think she is trying to make a joke or she really thinks George is part of the family!
