When we first brought Harlow home from the hospital and all she did was sleep, eat, and poop, my husband asked: "soooo when can we play Chutes and Ladders." "Well honey" I laughed, "it's gonna be a few years." He was obviously joking, but it was very sweet and had me picturing 3 year old Harlow and her dad playing board games. I stored that in my memory and thought I would get him Chutes and Ladders for Father's Day...or his birthday if I couldn't wait that long for my GREAT gift idea.
Well, my parents who knew about this conversation, were cleaning out my grandma's condo. She passed away while I was pregnant and is Harlow's middle-name-sake. In her condo were some games that we would play at her place as kids including of course Chutes and Ladders. Next time they visited, they brought it to him, unknowingly stealing my gift idea! Anyways, it was very sweet and I'd rather have my grandmas version then a new store bought one anyway.
I bring this up because today is my amazing husband's birthday. He is busy with school all day so we had cake last night, which means I am home today eating ALL the leftover by myself. Don't judge, it's called the breastfeeding diet..i.e eat everything in sight because I am so hungry!
Happy Happy Birthday to Mark!!! Looking forward to many years and many board games ahead!
