When I was 7 months pregnant with their first grandchild my parents bought a "project" a mile from our house but 700 miles from theirs. This blog chronicles the beginnings of their renovation and of the beginnings of our adventure into parenthood.

beach
This week I had a "middle of the week weekend" and we headed to the beach. We have been to Myrtle Beach a few times before but not sure we had the "true" experience until this time when we visited a Calabash Buffet for dinner last night. There were SO many people there. In fact, a tour bus pulled up and was walking in RIGHT before us. We were like "oh no, now we are gonna have to wait forever". But, it didn't matter we got right in. The only issue was the "fry" line. It was a little crowded, but Mark managed to sneak at the end and grab some coconut shrimp. Now if you could get past the crowd (which we barely could and we went at five o'clock) the food and the CRAB was really really good.
The rest of the trip was great too. Harlow went to the beach and went in the kiddie pool too. It was a little hot and sunny so we had to take a lot of breaks in our hotel room. During that time, Mark likes to watch the live coverage of the Olympics. Now don't get me wrong, I like to watch the Olympics, but I prefer the Primetime, edited version including all the sappy back stories. Mark on the other hand was enjoying archery, table tennis, and jujutsu. I was enjoying naps with Harlow. We had some great family time too like walking on the beach early in the morning where I took these pics of Harlow. It was a great trip!
I got the idea for the "leg lean" pic from pinterest since Harlow can't quite sit up on her own yet.
